Do not know the first blogger, but I liked the idea of instant creation of web page. As it took much less time, so it involved low cost. And some one or specifically the businessmen wanted to make people who are browsing through internet, look at their product and business, hence they were seeking some cheap medium to reach these huge mass. As with the increase in internet mass, internet business was blooming.
It created opportunity for blogger too. Advertisers were willing to advertise about their product, they wanted to buy reviews, just like they show it in television or say it on air. The models, might have never used the product or service yet they say, the product / service (they are advertising for) is the best know to him / her. It is all business. But was a great chance for those blogs with high traffic to make money. And yes, for last few years, many people are taking up blogging as their profession. There are many sites all over internet that bring advertisers ad blogger together. Otherwise it would have been tough for advertisers to search for blogger and likewise blogger to search for advertisers.
